Mahajan Store, Founded in 1922 in Sialkot (then part of Lehnda Punjab, now in Pakistan), Mahajan Store carries a proud legacy of over a century, rooted in tradition, purity, and authentic Punjabi taste. It was established by Late Shri Sohne Shah Gupta, who began hand-grinding spices using traditional methods — preserving the natural aroma and flavor that defined true Punjabi cooking.
Following the Partition of India, Shri Sohne Shah ji migrated to Amritsar, India, where he humbly started selling his handcrafted spices door-to-door. With divine blessings and years of tireless effort, he, along with his son Shri Om Prakash Gupta, opened our first store in 1965 at Shop No. 14, Ghanta Ghar Chowk, near the Golden Temple— a location that remains close to our hearts and history.
Over the years, the business has passed through five generations, each dedicated to preserving the legacy while expanding the vision:
At Mahajan Store, we are widely known for our Traditional Punjabi Spices, specially made for the typical Indian taste. Some of our most loved blends include Chana Masala, Garam Masala, Biryani Masala, Chicken Masala, and Mutton Masala — all handcrafted without salt, red chilli powder, onion, or garlic, making them suitable for people of all dietary preferences, including Jain families. This allows our customers to adjust seasoning as per their personal taste while enjoying the authentic flavors of Punjab.
Our spices are still hand-ground using traditional methods, just as they were a century ago. Alongside our spices, we offer a wide range of heritage-rich products like Spices, Punjabi Papad - Wariyan, Panjeeri, and also Traditional Punjabi Suits, Handcrafted Juttis, and more — keeping the cultural essence alive in every product.
Today, we proudly serve our customers across three branches in Amritsar:
From humble beginnings to a heritage brand, Mahajan Store stands as a symbol of trust, taste, and tradition — cherished by generations
